Kickstart youth leadership in 20 village schools of rural Uganda connected with global partners and schools and with Africa’s first Quidditch team part of the adventure!
John is school teacher who founded a free village school for poor village children and a Rural Teachers Association. His school hosts a teenage tailor and hairdresser training studio, too. YL partnership adds self-defense training for girls, campaigns to end domestic violence, community fruit tree nursery, dialog and projects with global schools.
John is awesome, because he founded Africa’s first Quidditch team for gender mixed sports, inspired a league of 6 teams and their National Team could have joined the World Cup in Germany, if visa delays had not impeded their participation. He deserves our help, since he is a project-oriented fun educator (that’s rare in frontal teaching Africa), loves YL’s scope of action, quickly seizes potentials at his school and aims to activate the region.
We seek to help John establish youth leadership at his and 20 more schools + spark quick youth-led actions with ripple effects in 20 nearby villages and to use the epic Quidditch story to connect with global schools for dialog and projects.
John is on board for Community Fruit Tree seedling nurseries
… at his and other schools as a first quick projects for young school students to handle, combined with biology class … generating many progress news, photos, feel of agency, tangible achievements … as gifts to the community to gain attention, appreciation and involvement by the greater community … enabling student leaders to act as speakers at the other 20 schools of the Rural Teachers Association … and coaching youth at our other LearnSpaces in Africa and India … and in future ones activated by you in Europe and North America.
