Campaign Story

Ocean is world famous for her playful freedives with Great White Sharks, her educational talks opening our eyes to “what sharks are truly like” as this veritable mermaid holding her breath for 6 minutes takes us into underwater Lothlorien.

Ocean is awesome, because she is a child grown up in the ocean, trained as marine biologist, turns her fierce love for sharks into radiating daily social media posts, holds talks and publishes books on how to stay from test bites (no one would get away to the beach if they meant to eat humans) in murky waters, at river mouths and how to deter too curious sharks with the move of a hand.

She deserves our help, since she spends up to 12 hours per day in the water, doing avantgarde research on shark behavior and migration routes, liberating sharks from hooks, knows them by their name, scars, bite marks – is openly enthusiastic to see them return and alive after years, a feeling that we share after years following her adventures – does beach clean-ups, has published a children’s book, gives presentations at schools …

We seek to boost Ocean’s reach to schools in Hawaii and globally through her teaching tool kits and our YL Poster Exhibit on Ocean and Sharks, linked with action calls and more
