Ocean is world famous for her playful freedives with Great White Sharks, her educational talks opening our eyes to “what sharks are truly like” as this veritable mermaid holding her breath for 6 minutes takes us into underwater Lothlorien.
Ocean is awesome, because as marine biologist, she spends up to 12 hours per day in the water, does avantgarde research on shark behavior and migration routes, beach clean-ups, school presentations, shark dives with tourists and children, holds talks, publishes a children’s book, teaching tools, films and books on how to avoid test bites (no one would get away to the beach if they meant to eat humans) in murky waters, at river mouths, how to deter too curious sharks with a hand’s move,
She deserves our help, because she also takes us into that world with radiating, fascinating and educational daily social media posts, liberates sharks from hooks, knows them by their names and scars – is openly enthusiastic to see them return alive after years, a feeling that all of us share … and millions of school kids should experience, too.
Ocean is the perfect shark icon role model that all kids on Earth should know!
